This Rabbit, That Rabbit by Jane Porter

Published by Walker Books, 2013.

This is a lovely first picture book. The sturdy board book format means the pages are perfect for tiny hands to grab and hold. The book further helps sensory development because this is a shiny touch book where the pictures are high gloss and feel nice to the touch. I really liked the rhymes in the book (shy rabbit/dry rabbit and trendy rabbit/bendy rabbit were my favourites) and, apart from adding to our reading enjoyment, rhymes are important in early literacy because they help develop phonic awareness. The rabbits were fun and full of personality and we really enjoyed reading the story.
