About

I’m passionate about children’s books and about children enjoying books and reading. I’m a mother to two-year-old Sam and a primary school class teacher. For as long as I can remember, I have loved books. My childhood was shaped by them and today they are some of my most prized possessions. My favourite lessons are those where I’m sharing a book with the children. Books open up new worlds to us, let us learn more about ourselves and others, fire our imaginations, make us think, laugh and cry. By writing this blog, I hope to share my passion and enthusiasm for reading with others and to get kids into books. You can read my book reviews and recommendations on my home page.

  1. Hello,
I love to see people writing with passion about children’s books and spreading the word. Would you be willing to review my MG/crossover fantasy, Oy Yew. The book was longlisted for the Times/Chicken House prize. Candy Gourlay named it as one of her 2015 books that deserve to be discovered. You can look inside here http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_0_6?url=search-alias%3Ddigital-text&field-keywords=oy+yew&sprefix=oy+yew%2Caps%2C183 Do let me know if you would like a review copy.
